A Statement

Forgive me if this sounds like I am suffering from a case of overinflated ego, but I felt the need to make a public statement: from this point forward you will be seeing a lot more of Sloane Reed's opinions.

Many of these will be quite controversial and spark debate. I am an extremely blunt person who says whatever is on my mind. Oftentimes people do not share my point of view and I have a tendency to look at things in a rather unique way. My greatest hope would be that anything I say sparks a dialogue where a variety of opinions can be shared in a way that is respectful, yet I know that's not reality. I'll be content with just sparking a dialogue.

I write this message because I am about to begin writing regularly for TheDailyBS.com. As those of you who have followed my page know, that site was Sean Krause's brainchild. Dr. Krause was my mentor, my biggest inspiration, though I never got the chance to tell him that. His passing on February 23, 2008 at young age of 25 hurt me so deeply that I cannot find adequate words to express the pain. Yet it also restored my passion for carrying on his mission-to crusade for justice and expose the truth. I want to produce the kind of pieces that would make Sean proud. And that's exactly what I intend to do.

One of the biggest questions I have gotten from both 'internet followers' and personal friends is why I haven't spoken out more about the Caylee Anthony case, aside from what I did on The DailyBS.com. This is going to sound strange coming from somebody who is so opinionated...but this particular story has rendered me speechless. Of course I have my millions of dollars worth of my two cents-and have been actively following this case since day one-yet I've never seen anything like it. The bizarre behavior of the entire family, particularly Casey Anthony, baffles me. It's time for me to translate my thoughts to writing and share my true feelings with you.

Obviously I will not be speaking only about the Caylee Anthony case. There is no shortage of stories in the media that I want to address. Staying true to myself, I will not limit my writings strictly to 'newsworthy' topics. My love for Bloody Marys is just as fiery as the intensity with which I believe in a woman's right to choose. That's who I am. Attempting to reign in my mind is an impossible task and my writing reflects this. Neurotic, quirky, bipolar-call it what you will. I call it Sloane Reed. And I'm about to start talking a lot more.
