A New Story

Donna Cavanagh
We get the chance to rewrite the pages
To edit the story we wrote the past year
Our words can become drenched in our own emotion
Do they tell the tale of love, hate or fear?

Life gives us that second chance
To write a new novel from beginning to end
To examine our actions; To learn from our mistakes
Did we stay strong? Did we learn to bend?

What new novel will we write?
How will our new story unfold?
Drama, comedy, mystery, suspense
So much of our life is yet untold

Instead of forfeiting your dreams
Instead of believing they can never transpire
Write a first chapter; let it flow from your soul
And let your own words set your heart on fire
