A Story About Saint Patrick

There is a story about Saint Patrick
that people like to hear
Especially around Saint Patrick's Day
which comes every year.

A man sent Patrick a piece of meat
and thought his thanks wold never be beat.
"Deo Gratias" was what St. Patrick said
which made the man mad.

He sent another piece of meat
and still thought his thanks could never be beat
"Deo Gratias" the Saint replied
"I'll send another piece of meat," the man cried.

"Deo Gratias" came the answer again
"Let's measure the weight," said the man
Three pieces of meat were placed down
with the words on the scale

But a surprise to all! The words did not fail!
the man became a Catholic, he knew when he was beat!
All from those three pieces of meat!
