So at about 5:30, I decided to go closer to listen, and I heard little giggles, whispers between toddlers. I cracked the door open.
And screamed.
They had taken off their pants and diapers. Both children (twin girls) had a bowel movement, and it was everywhere. Smudged on the cribs. Swiped across the wall. Rubbed into the sheets. Under finger nails. In hair. On Faces.
It was like a horror movie.
They had to have been awake for at least thirty minutes, doing the deed (shall we say.) It was like a horror movie. So when I screamed, my husband had come running. Now for a man that really doesn't take a very active part in getting down and dirty with the child care, he's really great about not making me get my hands super dirty. So he put them under the shower and hosed them off. I stripped the sheets, and then took over scrubbing the kids, while he sanitized their bedroom.
It was definitely one of the most memorable moments, and definitely one we tell after the dinner at a dinner party has been eaten!
