A Tale of Two Candidates

Which Candidate Can You Relate To?

Sin Lucas
This is without a doubt one of the most important elections of our lifetime. The economy is a mess and we're stuck in what seems to be another vietnam. But despite all of that some voters will still make this decision lightly, but others will base their decision on which candidate they have more in common with and that makes sense to me. Voters want to relate to their president, but which one of our presidental candidates can you really relate to?

I found this article online and fitting perfectly with my theme, I thought i'd share it with you.

WHO DO YOU REALLY HAVE MORE IN COMMON WITH?

By: Jackie Lucas-Jones

The Republic Party Rick Davis, campaign mgr. for John McCain, recently stated that this important election is not about the serious issues facing the American people. But instead it is about the candidate themselves. So with this in mind I thought I would consider this and see which candidate the average American has more in common with:

Candidate #1

This candidate owns more houses than he can remember:

This candidate spends over $250,000 in house cleaning alone (this amount is more than the cost of the avg. homeowner):

This candidate's spouse wore attire at the convention which reportly cost an estimated $300,000 dollars:

Candidate #2

This candidate owns (1) house like the avg. American

This candidate recently just paid off his student loans

This candidate's spouse reveals that she shops at Target and the candidate himself wears pants and shoes that are ten years old:

These are just a few personal differences between our two candidates. Personally however, I think this election should revolve around the issues such as our country's sinking economy, our broken healthcare and education system and our not having a smart foreign policy. But if you think that it should center on you who have more in common with. Which candidate above would you chose? Somehow I don't think the republicans would like the answer to that question. So let's all be smart Americans and make this election about the issues affecting our everyday lives.

Just in case you don't know: John McCain is candidate #1 and Barback Obama is candidate #2.

Now that you've read it putting race, gender and age aside, which candidate do you have more in common with?

See you in November.

Thanks Dee, I found that article and had to share. It's quite interesting especially when people keep talking about character. And then you have all these republicians and conservative saying how they can relate to the mccain/palin ticket. Can you now? I don't think they can at all not as much as they think they can.
