A Tasty Treat - Zone Perfect Dark Chocolate Caramel Pecan Nutrition Bar

Susan Slade
I am always on the look out for a nutrition bar that is sensibly priced, has a good taste to it, and gives me what my body needs. So when I saw a $1 coupon off of a Zone Perfect Nutrition Bar, I couldn't wait to use it.

The cost of the bar was $1.59, so after my coupon it was cheaper than a candy bar, which only fills you up.

The one I chose was Zone Perfect Dark Chocolate Caramel Pecan. I figured what a great combination. The wrapper looks inviting with the bar showing, pecan halves, and a caramel candy. The net weight of the bar is 1.58 ounces (45 g).

I opened the wrapper and the size of the bar is three and three quarter inches x one and a quarter inches x three quarters of an inch. It is a dark chocolate color with tiny little pieces of something on the top.

When I bit into the bar, I loved the crunch to it. The main part of the bar looks like tiny black crunchy balls. Then above this is a very thin layer of caramel. You can barely taste it. The outside is a thin coating of chocolate.

After the first bite I had this bitter/sweet taste, which was totally acceptable. I continued to eat the bar, and although the amount of pecans, and caramel are minimal, the bar itself tastes pretty good.

I ate this bar at lunchtime instead of a snack or meal. After wards I walked, as the weather here in Florida today, is too cold to swim. After my walk I came back and did a 15 minute aerobic session. I had a full bottle of water with the bar, and during my activities.

The bar left me feeling full, and a good taste in my mouth. After my workout I still had energy, and stayed that way until it was time for my main meal.

For those of you that want the information on this bar, I have taken it off the website, as it is too small to read on the wrapper.

This is one of the few nutrition bars I would purchase again. I think that they will be great for me when I am traveling. They will allow me to get vitamins and minerals that my body needs in a form that I enjoy.

They should be stored below 75 degrees F, which means in the fridge, here in Florida.

Zone Perfect have a 'Great Taste Guarantee', so if you don't like it you can send the UPC code, together with the original receipt, and get a refund. With that in mind, why wouldn't you try a bar?
