Let me start off by saying that I absolutely adore Taylor Swift. This girl has the voice of an angel, an infectious innocence about her and, let's face it, she's cute as a bug's ear (whatever that means). While I've never been a rampaging country music fan, I can't help but watch her videos and get her songs stuck in my head. Two thumbs up, Taylor!

But the recent news that there is a new Taylor Swift fragrance set for release has me quaking in my boots - or would if I wore boots anyhow. Regardless of my choice in footwear, I am usually skeptical about celebrity fragrances. Let's face it, I've spritzed myself with one or two over the years and, alas, not one man has come up to me and murmured a heated "Mmm you smell just like Celine Dion," against my ear. How about you?

I didn't think so.

I even bought the Antonio Banderas cologne, for my son, one Christmas. Frightening! It didn't cover up that teenage goat-like scent they all possess at that age... it just altered it, in a way that made me quickly find an excuse for the cologne to disappear. Yikes! Talk about a whole new kind of funk.

Of course, it's still fun to check out new scents. You never know when you might stumble across one that really does smell great. That being said, I figure I'll give Taylor Swift's perfume a try when it comes out but, until then, here's a couple of other celebrity perfumes that you might think are worth a spritz:

"Royal Desire" by Christina Aguilera: Christina Aguilera can certainly turn on the charm when she wants to, and her ad campaign for her latest perfume (this is her fifth, believe it or not) has her styling it up in tribute to the late great Marilyn Monroe. Combining floral hints with a woodsy musk scent, this is a beautiful tribute to both pop icons.

"Reveal" by Halle Berry: If you enjoy warm, rich florals, you may want to look into Halle Berry's latest signature fragrance "Reveal." Said to be a combination of peach, melon, mimose, red berries, plumeria, iris, neroli, vetiver, cashmere and musk, this warm fruity floral may be just what you're looking for. If it makes us as glamorous as this gorgeous actress, I'll certainly buy a few bottles!

"S" by Shakira: The bottle says simple elegance, but we know nothing by the beautiful "She-Wolf" is ever simple. Taking a hands-on approach to celebrity perfumes, Shakira was present to explore the creation process of her new perfume, "S." A rich and beautiful feminine scent, Shakira's celebrity fragrance combines hints of jasmine and sandalwood with the warmth of vanilla, amber and resins.

"Reb'l Fleur" by Rihanna: Due to be released in 2011, many are looking forward to Rihanna's signature scent, "Reb'l Fleur." Named after the "rebelle fleur" tattoo that Rihanna recently added on her neck, the bottle is designed to look like an inverted high heel and is said to glow from within.

Beyonce's "Heat Rush": Beyonce's "Heat" has always been a red-hot celebrity fragrance, but it was recently announced that this sultry scent is going to be followed by a daytime perfume known as "Heat Rush." Look for this glamorous new scent sometime around February.

"Purr" by Katy Perry: When she's not scandalizing little red muppets with her cleavage, Katy Perry puts the purr back in the phrase "sex kitten," donning skin-tight pink and blue latex in her ad for upcoming celebrity perfume "Purr." You thought Cat Woman was gorgeous? Wait until you get a load of this pretty kitty! Let's just hope the perfume is half as sexy.

An Oldie but a Goodie

"White Diamonds" by Elizabeth Taylor: One of the most popular celebrity fragrances, Elizabeth Taylor's "White Diamonds" has been a best-selling fragrance for nearly 20 years now. With a mixture of amber, lily and rose scents, this is a timeless classic if you're going for rich elegance.

And last but not least, I had to add a perfume (collection) that is designed to strike fear into the hearts of many. Steel yourselves.

"My World" by Justin Bieber: Have we had enough of pretentious teenage pop stars yet? Apparently not, as teen-dream Justin Bieber has decided to release a collection of four unisex fragrances. For the metrosexual, apparently and soon to be available at your local Wal-Mart. Great, now all the rednecks will smell like Canadian boy bands.
