A Teddy Bear Theme Nursery on a Budget

A theme for a nursery can be hard to choose when the sex of the baby is unknown. There are many options to choose from, to simplify your choices for a nursery. A neutral theme is your best option when the sex of the baby isn't identified. Neutral themes come in a wide variety of chooses. Raising a child isn't an easy task nor is it cheap. Wooden Hamper. To save you money, you can have someone build you a hamper from wood. A wooden hamper can be purchased from a yard sale or a flea market. Either option will save you money. Your next step is to purchase paint and stencils. The stencils should be of teddy bears.

To make this design even more friendly add some stars and moons. This gives them a more elegant look. The colors for this project should be in greens, yellows and browns. These colors are in the neutral setting. To be even more creative you can have the child's name stenciled onto the hamper.

Glow in the dark stars. This is an in-expensive and simple item to add to a nursery. The sticky backing is included with the purchase. You may need to purchase more than one package. It will depend on the size of the ceiling and how much of a glow you will want in the nursery. The stars and moons add a whimsical theme.

Wall design. A design can be drawn or stenciled onto a blank canvas, such as a white wall. If you are living in an apartment, check with the landlord before painting a picture on the walls. In a house you do not need to worry about asking anyone to paint. The cost of materials shouldn't be more than sixty dollars. The cost will be determined by the size of the painting, how much paint you will need, and stencils.

I would ask for help when painting especially if you are pregnant, you shouldn't be near the paint fumes. The fumes are harmful to you and your unborn child. The shape of a star and moon is easy to create. Most or all carpet retailers will give you large scraps of carpet for free. You just need to choose the size and color of the carpet. Your next step is to trace the design of your choice onto the carpet. The final step is to cut out the shape. This project shouldn't you a dime. A rug of this design will coordinate well.

Toy Chest. A toy chest can be plastic, wood or even cloth. Before a design can be stenciled onto the toy chest, first choose the correct paint for the right material. Follow all instructions with the paint. Every nursery needs a toy chest. The toy chest will conceal all the toys belonging to the child or children.

Lamp. A star and moon or even a teddy bear theme lamp can be purchased. These are not usually hard to find. If you are picky shopper, buy a simple lamp base and a plain lamp shade. The color can either be white, green or yellow. You can have a favorite saying or the shapes coordinating with the theme of the nursery.

Cross stitch project. A cross stitch project pack can be purchased at any hobby shop. If you haven't completed a cross stitch before, choose an easy design. A cross stitch can give the nursery character. Cross stitch isn't easy to accomplish. There are many designs to choose from. The list goes on and on.

Wall paper. It doesn't have to be a large wall paper. The wall paper can be a border design only. The design of the wall paper should be simple. Wall paper can be purchased practically in any department store. The cost will vary as well. The size and design will be the determination of the cost.
