Isn't it funny how you feel when you have a spouse who cheats on you? Not ha-ha funny, but you know like you want revenge? Yeah that feeling is what drove me to the test of faithfulness one time. It may not have been nice of me, but you know if you sit and read the whole story you may understand why this test took place!
I was married after about a month to a guy, yes a month, we thought we were in love, perhaps it was lust, but I really think to me it was love. Well not now I don't but at that time I swore this would be the right one, and the one that I would grow old with.
After all if you have such a deep connection that after 2 weeks you are asked by the guy to marry them, well you naturally can be blinded and feel that "this is the REAL Thing". It wasn't bad for a few years; in fact I mean sex was something that we never lacked in our relationship.
But my son was someone that my now ex-husband just couldn't get along with, I'm not sure why, he has never really told me. Anyway besides that aspect of the relationship, and yes that was a big part, we still got along great, or so I thought.
Cutting things a bit short, he left me for a person who has two boys of her own. Swore to me he wasn't cheating and was living with just a friend. And yes I was dumb enough to think he was telling the truth at that time.
Anyway he left me for her, and told me we were over. Desperate at first to get him back, for unknown reasons, I began to offer him sex just to be with him. He was good for a while, and truthfully after a while I stopped asking too.
But one night I was sitting in my Tampa apartment, and was being devious. I didn't want this man back at all, but we were still married, and I wanted to test him. So we had talked on the phone occasionally, and he was always a bit friendly.
So one night I took it to another level and asked him, hey why don't we just have sex? I was just horny, play truth, and didn't want to have to find a guy who I didn't know. He agreed to it, setting up a time and day that he would be over. All of the sudden a light went on in my head, wait, he's now cheating on her with me, when he first cheated on me with her.
Mind you again I was still married to him, so for me I was only sleeping with my estranged husband, so I was not cheating. In his case I guess you can say that he really didn't cheat, well in sort of a way. Though supposedly they were engaged at this time, so yes he did cheat.
It's funny though because this guy will never be faithful to her either, just like he wasn't with me. It wasn't really a nice thing to do on my part. However, all I wanted was to prove to myself that he was nothing but a dog, and of course have sex.
So is the moral of the story that it's once a cheater always a cheater? Or perhaps that the bonds of marriage may still be there for some time after you split, no matter if one of you has another person in your life?
Who knows truthfully, all I know is he failed the test of faithfulness, and that was enough for me. After that point I had very little to do with him, occasionally talking to him. He did ask me several times if we could get together again, and include another woman even, but I never set it up. After all I also found out that sex was just that, you didn't have to have feelings for someone to have sex, so I was good.
