A Thanksgiving Day Prayer

A Special Prayer for a Special Day

Mathew Paul
I believe a Thanksgiving Day Prayer should be thorough, complete, and include your nation, your community, and your family. Of course the first objective is to thank God for all of His countless and wonderful Blessings. Second, you want to ask God to continue Blessing yourself, your family, your community, your nation, and even the world.

The Bible says that we should pray constantly. So we should thank God everyday for His Blessings, and ask Him to guide us everyday and in everything we do. I try to thank God for each new day that He gives me, and I try to ask Him for His Guidance in every task I undertake. I also try to pray for other people as much as possible. Like most people, I do a lot of business on the telephone. Before I dial, I ask God to allow me to make contact with the other person and to guide me so I can conduct the conversation for His Glory. I also ask God to Bless the person I am talking to as well as their family, friends, and coworkers. Sometimes, when I am working I will get an idea about an issue or another person and I pray about it while I continue to work.

Thanksgiving is a special day of prayer and I can offer the following prayer: Heavenly Father, Thank you for this day and the wonderful Blessings that you have given us. I pray for our leaders in government. Give them the wisdom to solve all our problems peacefully and with justice. I pray for my friends and co-workers and ask you to continue to Bless them and take care of them. I thank you for my wonderful family and I ask that You continue to walk with them and Bless them along their way in life. I ask all these things through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior.
