"Save the Trees!" "Go Green!"
I can speak the words so simply
But they won't mean anything
Not unless I do something
Stand up and make a change
It takes work to save the earth
From small pond to mountain range
Our planet gives and gives so much
Rarely does she complain
We take it all so greedily
And just ignore her pain
For supposedly intelligent beings
We're often just so dumb
Trashing, destroying this planet, our home
Ignoring the consequences to come
What kind of future will our youth see?
What will happen to our earth?
Will our greed leave us homeless and stranded?
Will we only then see more than worth?
When it's gone, it's gone for good
We can't bring back what's lost
Care for the earth today, everyday
Protect it at all cost

Great poem!
Inspiring. :)
People only think of the here and now, and what effects them. No one realizes that life will go on after we leave, and thousands of years from now they will be talking about what we did...ahh, the inevitability of it all made brighter by you inspiring words!
Very nice :)
