in the wee hours, I awoke with a start,
my being not well, still nothing to fear,
perhaps a morsel from local food mart.
I ran down the hall to bathroom on left,
in the nick of time so nothing would spill.
With chills, cramps, nausea - I lorn, bereft.
I needed a cure, this demon to kill.
To the drugstore I raced for meds to stop
this thing camped out in my non-suspect form.
With Pepto, K.o. and Seven-Up pop,
will I join the others, masses of norm?
Did the choir do well without me today?
Did pastor read my poem with emotion?
I celebrated the resurrection
with hubby, snacks and prayers of devotion.
