A Toast

Everybody cheers
as the balls drops.
For that one moment
time stops.

All the memories
of the last year,
the laughs,the joys
the heartache, the tears,

the spring of May,
and the winter of December.
you walk through the crowd
as you remember.

The people are still
with glasses raised high
The brightest smiles
and a gleam in each eye

They're the people you love
the one's you'd fight for
The people who'd love you
if you were rich or if you were poor

You wear a big smile
as you look at the crowd
You raise your glass
