A Token of His Love: A Poem

Frootbat31
A token of his love

Held in his not-so-gentle hand

A rose so frail

The color of blood

"I'm sorry." He says softly

"I'm sorry too." I reply

Enfolding in his arms

A token of his love

Held out in apology

A heart shaped locket

His words are my prison

"I'm sorry." He says softly

"I'm sorry too." I reply

Enfolding in his arms

A token of his love

Held out on bended knee

A ring for my bridal day

"It won't ever happen again...

I'm sorry." He says softly

"I'm sorry too" I reply

Walking into the rain

Never looking back.
