A Tornado Blows in Brooklyn
Neighborhood: Bushwick
Brooklyn, NY 11221
United States of America
At about 5:45 PM Thursday, September 16 an apparent tornado blew its way through Brooklyn. Though many residents throughout the borough were unsure of what actually hit them, it became clear what it was.

Earlier in the evening tornado warnings were issued for Queens, Brooklyn, and Staten Island though they were quickly stopped just around the time the tornado apparently hit. Reports of hail, strong winds, and an exceptional amount of rain all pounded the city. Tree limbs crashed through cars and windows alike. Hardest hit areas include Bed-Stuy, Bushwick, and Williamsburg.

Throughout Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island there is extensive damage from fallen trees, signs, and power lines. Streets are closed and commuters can expect delays via the LIRR, MTA, and taxi.
