There are many great funky neighborhoods in the borough of Brooklyn. I'm writing an article to guide you a new adventure of the exploration in the neighborhood of Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn.

First, you have to start your day with breakfast. If you take the number two train to Eastern Parkway and walk three blocks on Washington Avenue you will come across the restaurant Tom. This is one of those places that anyone will love that is in the mood for nostalgia of Brooklyn's past. The owner Tom always by the register and will always greet you with a smile. This place serves great pancakes, cakes, ice creams and cherry lime rickies. They staff even gives orange slices and cookies. If you love a place with 1930's décor then come for a great breakfast or lunch at Toms.

If you come early to Tom's restaurant then you can get in the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens for free before noon on Saturday, free for seniors on Fridays and free admission on Tuesdays. Explore their great gardens, goldfish or just sit and enjoy the scene. This garden hosts many great festivals during the year. For example they have a cherry blossom festival and a Chile pepper festival.

If you love art then right next door you can visit the Brooklyn Museum of Art. You can pay what you wish and explore this museum vast Egyptian collection, impressionist collection and its African collection. Every First Saturday of every month this museum host special events with a music dance party, dance performances and films, lectures and tours that are free and open to the public.

If you walk toward Flatbush avenue check out Brooklyn main Central library where you can hear great lectures, great music or maybe even take out some books if you get a Brooklyn library card. There even a new center for contemporary culture that this library hosts for` a small fee.

In addition, after your library visit you would be right across the street from Prospect Park where on a nice day you rest or take a stroll. You can get a book from the library and then rest and read it in the park. On Saturday the Farmer Market is open for business also right across the street from the library.

So go and take a take a subway ride to the Eastern Parkway stop. This will be journey of culture and past that you won't forget.
