Among my favorite activities is the seasonal ice rink at the Fountain Square. This is a seven thousand square foot ice rink that is comparable in size to the Rockefeller Center ice rink in New York. At the Fountain Square Ice Rink you will enjoy patio warmers, locker rentals, a concession stand filled with yummy treats like hot dogs, pizza, cotton candy and so on, as well as benches to rest and relax on. The Ice Rink at the Fountain Square in Cincinnati opens for business the day after Thanksgiving and could be closed if the weather is too warm for this outdoor ice rink. This is a fun way to spend an afternoon with the kids during the winter season.
Also at the Fountain Square District in downtown Cincinnati, kids of all ages will love playing in the water wall. Kids of all ages will enjoy placing their hands in this 'sheet of water' and discovering what shapes you can produce with your hands. Rest assured the water in the water wall is fresh water, non chlorinated. Just in case the little ones drink or swallow any of the water.
For baseball fans, without a doubt the greatest feature of the Fountain Square District of Cincinnati is the Cincinnati Reds ticket kiosk. With a credit card you can purchase Cincinnati Reds tickets thru the touch pad kiosk. You can park at the Fountain Square District parking garage and walk about a quarter of a mile. You can save a considerable amount of money parking here and enjoy the sights of downtown Cincinnati. After 4 PM you can park at the Fountain Square District for four dollars, head down Vine Street and you will find the Great American Ballpark with ease.
You can also use the Cincinnati Reds Kiosk at the Fountain Square to purchase tickets for upcoming Reds games. You can also enjoy free wireless internet access at the Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati, as well as a great variety of fantastic shops, and terrific restaurants like Graeter's, Ingredients and Morton's Steakhouse, to name a few.
The Fountain Square District in downtown Cincinnati is a must see area of Cincinnati, Ohio when you are in town. It is a great way to spend an afternoon.
