When in the Hocking Hills region, you will want to do some hiking. Old Mans Cave is located outside of Logan Ohio via State Route 664 South. Old Mans Caves is the most visited of all of the parks in the system. Open year round Old Mans Cave is a lovely park, with trails for every skill level. You will enjoy waterfalls, streams, trees, rock formations and of course, caves. Admission is free and leashed pets are welcome.
If you are looking for a hiking spot that is less visited stop by Cantwell Cliffs. Cantwell Cliffs is the most beautiful of all of the Hocking Hills State Parks. Accessible from US Highway 33, to State Route 180 to State Route 374. Pets are also welcome at Cantwell Cliffs in Rockbridge Ohio. You will enjoy the peaceful and scenic location, the untouched nature and lovely picnic facilities at Cantwell Cliffs.
Another local spot you can not pass by without stopping is the Natural Rock Bridge in Rockbridge Ohio. Located directly off of US Highway 33 , the Natural Rockbridge is serene, beautiful, and a natural wonder. The Natural Rockbridge is a nature preserve, and pets are not allowed on the grounds of the Rock Bridge. Admission is free, as with all of the parks in the Hocking Hills State Park System.
From the numerous attractions you can plan day trips to check out the scene in the Hocking Hills. Many unique shops and charming small towns await your discovery. Some great spots to visit are the Gibisonville General Store in historic Gibisonville, State Route 678. You will also enjoy Glen Laurel Inn, and Ruby's Country Cupboard in this area.
In New Plymoth, you will want to stop by Eta's Lunch Box Café . This is a fantastic café, general store and lunch box museum all in one .Other hidden gems in Hocking County include the Bower and Daughters Fruit Company in Laurelville Ohio. They have a fantastic apple cider slushy here, worth driving for definately! You will want to stop by and have lunch at the Route 33 Diner in Rockbridge Ohio. An authentic 1950's themed diner, with terrific food, great service and a one of a kind, fun atmosphere.
