Mendocino county has a magnificent coastline, stunning redwood trees and great tasting California beer. Even if you only have a weekend, you can enjoy a most relaxing vacation combining the natural beauty of the area and great tasting beer. Here's how to relax to the max in Mendocino county:

Start in Ukiah, the county seat of Mendocino county which is a two hour drive from San Francisco. By staying at the Vichy Springs Resort (http://www.vichysprings.com/), not only will you be close to town but you can pleasure in a natural hot spring. This 1700 acre ranch

is full of hiking trails with views of waterfalls, canyons and valleys. Montgomery Woods State Park and its beautiful redwood trees are only 15 minutes outside of Ukiah. Rooms for two at the resort start at $195 a night and cottages for 2 start at $345 a night. Breakfast and full use of the natural springs and its mineral baths are included. Using the Vichy Springs Resort as your base, there are two California beer breweries nearby to lavish your beer taste buds:

Next, head over to the Howard Creek Ranch (http://www.howardcreekranch.com/index.html) which is not far from the cities of Mendocino and Fort Bragg. This 60 acre farm has its own ocean front as well as mountains. You can stroll on the beach or hike around the property. To deepen your relaxation, you may even want to consider a 1 hour German massage at $60. Other activities in area include horseback riding and shopping.
