A New Treatment for Stubborn Cellulite?

Kristie Leong M.D.
We all know how ugly it can be! That dimply, bumpy skin that peeks out at us when we take a look at our backside in the mirror. We've tried the so called cellulite treatments. We diet and exercise and massage and scrub, and try every possible "cure" we read about. But, those stubborn dimples persist! Well, hope may be on the horizon!

A new device that goes by the trade name of Velasmooth has been shown in a recent study to reduce the appearance of cellulite and give the skin a smoother appearnace. it's a safe and painless procedure that's been approved by the FDA and is available to physicians.Side efffects when present were very mild and included skin redness and warth.

When studies were performed by dermatologists to measure the efficacy of this new cellulite treament, they were impressed to find a clinical improvement scores of between 25% and 50% as manifested by reduction in the circumferance of the abdoman and thighs. Pretty impressive results!

How does this new treatment work? Velasmooth uses the power of combined bi-polar radio frequency waves and infrared light waves to penetrate and heat the underlying fatty tissue. This results in shrinkage of the fat cells, effectively improving the appearance of cellulite. These higher energy waves are combined with deep tissue massage to further mobilize the unsightly fatty tissue and give a more contoured appearance. As a bonus, this treatment helps to improve circulation to the treated areas.

How often are these treatments necessary? Most patients will require between 8 to 10 cellulite treatments given twice a week for a month or so. The final results should last for at least several months and, possibly, a year or more.

The price! the price will vary depending on location from $1000 to $1500 for a full treatment course. A small price to pay for cellulite relief!.

Patient who have undergone this procedure report a high level of satisfaction with the results with almost no reports of negative side effects. They are usually able to return to their normal activities the same day as treatment.

If you're interested in receiving this treatment for your cellulite, where do you go to find a participating clinic? More and more dermatologists and plastic surgeons are starting to offer this procedure as an option for cellulite treatment. It would be best to call some of your local plastic surgeons and dermatologist sto find out if they currently have the Velasmooth setup. Another option would be to search the web for participating physicians in your area.

It's nice to know there are alternative cellulite treatments. You no longer have to accept the so called cellulite creams and other devices that have been passed off as cellulite cures over the ages and it sure can make wearing a bathing suit a more pleasant experience!
