A Tribute to April

When April Breezes In

Shana Dines
I am always amazed by the changes of the seasons. I wait for winter to be over and then all of a sudden I begin to notice that the seasons have changed. I was sitting at my computer and I can see the fields across the street. Sometime in just the last couple of days, they have turned green. I am always amazed and grateful. This is just a poem to pay tribute to the beginning of April. I know it isn't quite here but it is less than a week away.

April

Here she comes, oh so shy,
You almost miss her as she breezes by.

Quietly oh so quietly, she steps in,
April, so magical, she will stubbornly grin.

She sometimes teases as she storms and cries,
Then just as suddenly she will apologize.

Fields appear so miraculously green.
As trees with outstretched arms preen.

Grass out of sleepy slumber awakes
When oh when, did April step in?
