Homepage:
Here you will notice to the left, a new place for your avatar, badges and bio. Further down you will see the place to put your motto, affiliations and interests. You can change these by simply clicking the ACCOUNT hyperlink on the top of the page. This is different from the last one, as it showed all of this one the top of the page.
In the middle of the page, you will find your articles. They are hyperlinked and highlighted in a beautiful blue tone. I love the new colors on this layout too by the way.
Before heading too far down into the articles, you will see two hyperlink boxes. One of them says PUBLISHED CONTENT while the other one says COMMENTS.
Now I don't recall this being on the older version. If it was I totally missed it. I went browsing on here the other day and found it. I thought it was an easy way to communicate.
The font is awesome as well. I don't remember what it is called, but I like it. If you look right above that you will notice a pretty light blue box with several links in it. This is where you can FOLLOW your favorite producer. You can PROMOTE thier content. You can ADD them, CONTACT them and create a FEED as well.
Making our way to the right of the page, you will notice a box (with that pretty font) where you will find your homepage link to share with your friends. There is also a search box for finding your favorite articles fast.
Before heading to another page, let's look up on the top of the page. To the far left there are three boxes that you can click in. They will take you to the back office of your account to either SUBMIT an article, go to the community FORUM. You may even to create a WIDGET to promote your content, as well.
What does CLOUT mean? For those of you who are new to Associated Content, you may click on it and it will explain what it means. It took me over two years to reach clout 9. There are others who have been here less then that and are already at 10 (which happens to be the highest possible).
Our FANS and FAVORITES. To the bottom left side of the page, there you will notice all of our favs and fans. This is a convenient way to get to their page. Visit them by clicking on one of their pictures.
Let's head back up to the top of the page. I am noticing a new link for CP White Pages. I don't recall that on the last layout. This is a shortcut to finding any content producer in Associated Content. You will find other hyperlinks to click on as well, so let's get to it!!
Forum:
Here you will notice different threads. They are pretty detailed so it shouldn't be hard to find what thread you would need to post in. Over to your right, you will notice your own thread comments. Below that there are active thread hyperlinks.
Tutorials:
How convenient is this? We all love tutorials and there is no better way to get as much help as possible with Associated Content - Content Producer tutorials.
CP Tools:
This is where you will find tools to promote your work on social network sites, such as Facebook and MySpace. There are banners and graphics as well. If you copy the HTML coding, you can paste them in blogs and websites. This is another way to get the word out about your work.
RSS Feeds and Widgets:
I love widgets because they are very professional and attractive for promoting your content. You can also create a feed from other content producers as well.
Associated Content Awards:
Throughout the year and especially at the new year, Associated Content will have winners for various things. You may have the top ranked article or be a top ranked producer. Whatever the case may be, there is always money to be earned on Associated Content.
Townhall Meetings:
Every now and again, we have townhall meetings. This is a live conference chat where the administration will meet with content producers to discuss certain aspects of Associated Content.
Newsletter:
There is also a place where you can subscribe to Associated Contents newsletters. These are distributed bi-monthly.
View All:
This is an awesome box that is full of hyperlinks for anything that you need to find on the Associated Content site.
Account:
Right above the view all section, you will see that there is a link for your account back office. This is where you will be able to update your profile, read and send emails, submit content and view your earnings.
Calls For Content:
This box is where you will find certain topics that Associated Content wants written. There are a certain amount of days that you will have to submit them. Sometimes you get up front payment and it may even be featured as well.
Visiting Other Pages:
There is one thing that I noticed with the new layout. You may not vote someone down. Now your option is to recommend them and that is it. Also, you don't have to scroll to the bottom of the page to leave a comment. The submission box is conveniently on the top of the rest of the comments.
Surely the site can only progress. Here's to another year with Associated Content! Happy writing!

Post a CommentThanks.. I don't like that they took the promote links off, like buzz and stumble upon.. digg... etc..
Great tutorial. I am sure it will help a lot of people.
Thank you for this great help in finding our way around here. So far, I like it, except for the placement of our pictures (and I am glad they did away with the star-voting system).
It's quite OK except for the adverts flashing and distracting you! I guess, all changes take time to get used to and same is true for this one. However, I prefer the previous profile page to the new one. Thanks.
Good article and good discussion...
This is great! But unless I am very stupid and don't see it somewhere, the link to the page listing all my Content does not appear anywhere that people say it does. The line with sites across the page that you can click on doesn't show on my type of Explorer, and I never had that problem before! The Barefoot showed me how to manually get it every time I want to see it. I had to save the URL link!
hate those darn ads, very unprofessional, great write up!
Thanks for the tutorial. I am not too fond of the changes, especially the big ads right in the middle of the articles.
I'm still getting used to it, but overall I like it.
I like the new layout, but I wish our photos, which accompany an article were bigger like before. I think a photo adds to the overall article, but all may not agree! Well done and this should be a helpful article for people just starting out on AC!
