Before you even begin as a Rappelz dungeon party participant you need to know a few things about how dungeon parties even form up. Usually someone types "DPLF 40+ DD 6/8 LM2 PM Me". That seems like a lot of gibberish, but it tells a lot of information in a short sentence. "DPLF" means "dungeon party looking for". The 40+ means they are searching for a party with a level of at least 40. If you get lower, you could lose experience points when killing mobs. Too high of a level (usually 10 or 12 levels below the lowest man) can do the same. I would recommend not even participating in a party until you get to at least 35 on your first character. Beyond that will make things difficult because dungeon party mobs take twice as long to kill than regular mobs, and they start at level 30.
"DD" means they are looking for a damage dealer. "6/8" means they have six of eight people in the party. Parties can't get larger than eight people; knowing that there are already six people means you won't wait very long to get started. "LM2" stands for "Lost Mines #2", a popular dungeon in Rappelz that is located closest to Horizen and Rondo, two of the major towns. "PM Me" means to message the person sending it. He is probably the party leader, who is the only person that can add or kick players to and from the party. Now that you know what all that means, let's begin the Rappelz dungeon party!
The first step is everyone knowing where they are meeting and coming with all their tools. Archers and bow fighters need to bring plenty of arrows. Spell casting players should have plenty of potions and teas to re-fill magic points. Everyone should bring healing potions, resurrection scrolls, force and/or luna chips. Tanks and DDs should bring quick potions; everyone should bring wind potions. If people are bringing pets, have them stored away until you arrive at the meeting place. I would also recommend storing everything in the warehouse that you will not need. Who knows what treasures you will find in a Rappelz dungeon!
After you meet up with all your supplies in a Rappelz dungeon, everyone should sort out their roles. Determine who is tanking (the person taking the most damage) and who is chipping (the player casting chips on the mobs). Find out who is responsible for healing. Determine who will be the secondary tank as well as who will pull (bring mobs to the group). If you don't decide this before you head towards the inner workings of the dungeon, your party will surely end much sooner than you think.
Once everyone has their roles sorted out, buffing party members should begin. Buffing is the act of casting spells on fellow players to make them stronger, smarter, do more damage, etc. Kahunas and Clerics tend to have the most buff spells, but higher level players and some pets actually have buffs, too. If you must, summon your pets, cast buffs, and then recall them.
Next, you should determine which part of the dungeon your party will go to. Rappelz has some complicated and winding areas so it can be easy for the party to be split in half without having a set point to arrive at. Once that is determined, everyone should drink a wind potion and head towards that area. It is best to let the tank lead because aggressive mobs will follow him instead of everyone else. If the aggressive mobs hit him, they won't hurt him much. But if the cleric is the lead, you will find yourself searching for a new healer.
Finally the dungeon party should find a "sweet spot" to meet at. The sweet spot is usually in front of the determined mob room you plan to do damage in. The only mobs you see in the sweet spot are ones that randomly walk through the dungeon. Once you find that spot, any re-buffing should begin and roles should be reiterated. Also, this is an excellent time to drink any Stamina Saver (or SS) because your party is about to gain experience at lightning speed! After everything is said and done, the party should move as close to the dungeon room without getting in the middle of it all.
Once you reach this point, prepare for great adventure in Rappelz. Dungeon parties are always exciting but they are even better when everyone knows what they are supposed to do.
