A Unique Way to Meet

If Only in My Dreams

Nichole Williams
I'm sitting here next to you,
thinking of how we first met.
It was delightful and romantic,
A delight we didn't expect.

You danced with me,
And laughed with me,
By starlit silver streams.
I was so glad to have met you,
Even if it was only in my dreams.

We talked for hours and hours,
About how nothing is as it seems.
We joked, and smiled, and played,
Though it was only in my dreams.

Now I find myself sitting next to you,
Do I dare say anything?
I must! because I'm sure I know you,
Even though it was only in my dreams.

Oh, I love this poem! An unexpected twist indeed. I love the repetition of the last lines... it really drives the point... I'd be happy to have you check out my work as well! I love poetry. :)
