A Valentine's Day Poem

Happy Valentine's Day!

Langley Cornwell
Valentine's Day is a commercial excuse
To tell those you love that they mean much to you
In trying to honor the plain simple truth
I want you to know my deepest heart-view

The message is plain, no flowery spew
I'm talking to you, my Mr. Magoo
When I saw your hands and your crazy hair-do
Somehow in my heart it was right - I just knew

We started to date and together we grew
You're my anchor, my man, my friend and my glue
I'm glad that we're married, there is no redo
You're the one I want paddling my fine canoe

We have our big differences, that much is true
You like the cow and for me it's tofu
I really don't care what's on the menu
Loving you is as good as eating cashews

Whether surfing or playing like kids at the zoo
A good and fun husband, together we blew
The horn of great joy, the trombone, the kazoo
It's easy, it's real - there are no issues

In a fine old mansion or ice-built igloo
I would be your wife and write many haiku
Happy Valentine's Day grasshopper, kung-fu
Thanks for the good times and merci beaucoup

This was delightful! I feel your heart towards your Mr. Magoo is the same as mine is toward mine. I'm kinda glad he can't see me too well when I'm neked! LOL
