A Vampire's Tale

Quickpaws
The midnight hour came and went
As I breathed deep his manly scent.
A thirst for blood ripped through my fangs,
And magnified my hunger pangs.

My handsome victim slept in bliss.
He knew not of my deadly kiss.

I craved his mortal nectar sweet,
For human blood was now my meat.

I watched him, craving that first taste,
Yet made no sound and made no haste,
Fully cloaked by warmth of night.
His flavor would be pure delight!

Oh, what a meal this man would be!
I watched him with intensity...
His arms, his face, his neck so bare,
The curls that softly graced his hair...

I ached for blood so thirstily,
The price of immortality.

Advancing slowly, now I crept
To my true love as on he slept.
I bent for that first luscious bite,
My taste buds throbbing with delight.
My fangs pierced fast his yielding flesh
As I drank blood so sweet and fresh.

My ecstasy reached fever pitch!
His blood was thick and warm and rich!
It flowed like syrup, smooth and cream,
A vampire's most euphoric dream!

Our souls locked tight in union deep.
He dreamed in his hypnotic sleep,
And surely passion did ignite
Inside him when I took that bite!

Yet, never did my true love wake.
No, never did a sound he make,
And I as looked in utter dread,
I realized that this man...

Was dead.
