A Vegan Valentine's Day Dinner Even Your Meat Eater Will Love

Preparation: 35 min, cook time : 5 min

Makes: 12 Patties

Ingredients:

3 Cups cooked rice
3/4 Cup nuts (I use almonds and cashews)
3/4 Cup raw oatmeal
2 - 15oz Cans of Refried beans
2oz Soy Sauce
1 to 2 tablespoons steak seasoning
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1-2 tablespoons olive or other oil
Food safe gloves or 2 food storage bags
Plastic wrap
Some of your favourite spices and burger fixins

Directions:

1. Cook your rice. I prefer to use white rice but any will do. 1 ½ cups of white rice will make the 3 cups you need.

2. While your rice is cooking, chop up your nuts.

3. Now, Grab your favorite mixing bowl and add your beans, oatmeal, soy sauce, and nuts to the bowl

4. When your rice is done, its time to get messy. Let it cool just a bit and grab your gloves. If you don't have any, you can wait for the mixture to cool or use food storage bags instead. Knead all the rice into the mix and once you have it to a nice consistency, add some seasonings. Start with smaller amounts, and mix them in thoroughly, taste your "dough". Since it's vegan, there's nothing in it you can't eat right now, so don't be shy.

5. Once you have the mix to your liking in the seasoning department, get out the saran wrap, and if you want you can take off your gloves. At this point, simply spoon, or grab out burger size portions and wrap them up individually. Chill in the freezer for at least 15 minutes or so before you cook them. Your left overs, if you have any can be frozen if need be.

6. To cook the patties, add your oil to a thin griddle and grill for about 2 and a half minutes each side, or until golden brown.

Happy eating!
