A Very Carrie Christmas: Where to Find Carrie Underwood Christmas Songs

Victoria Leigh Miller
Taylor Swift has done it, Mariah Carey has done it- even the cast of "Glee" has done it! So why hasn't country music superstar Carrie Underwood released a Christmas album yet?

Diehard fans of the "American Idol" winner would love to have a Merry, Carrie Christmas, but for now they may have to hunt and peck to put together the ultimate Carrie Underwood Christmas playlist.

Yes, the songs are out there- if you know where to look!

Carrie Underwood's version of "What Child Is This" can be found on the compilation album "Now That's What I Call Christmas! Vol. 4."

Her rendition of "Do You Hear What I Hear" is included on the 2007 album, "Hear Something Country: Christmas."

Carrie can also be found belting out the song, "Hark! the Herald Angels Sing" on the 2009 album, "A Very Special Christmas 7."

And her posthumous duet with Elvis Presley- "I'll Be Home for Christmas"- can be found on the album "Elvis Presley Christmas Duets."

And if you don't like mixing your Carrie with other artists like, say, Rihanna or Britney Spears, in some cases you can skip buying the compilation album and just download the individual Carrie tracks. All of the songs listed above can be found on reputable music download sites like iTunes.

Fans can also check out video of Carrie singing Christmas tunes from past appearances on television Christmas specials.

In 2005, fresh off of her "American Idol" win, Carrie appeared on the Dr. Phil-hosted TV special "Christmas in Washington" where she sang "Last Christmas" and "O Holy Night."

And in 2009- by now in the big time- Carrie Underwood hosted her very own primetime Christmas special called "Carrie Underwood: An All Star Holiday Special. "

While most of the musical performances on the holiday special weren't Christmas songs at all (a medley of 60's tunes with Christina Applegate and Kristin Chenoweth? ), Carrie did eventually cap off the night with a gorgeous performance of "O Holy Night."

In 2008, in a Walmart exclusive, the re-release of Carrie's album "Carnival Ride" came with a 5-track bonus CD that included songs like "The First Noel" and "What Child Is This." But enthusiastic fans scooped it up and that version of the CD is no longer available.
