A Warning About PG & E

Don't Pay Your Bill Online..

Debora HIll
Dear Friends and Colleagues;

I want to warn you about a fraudulent practice by Pacific Gas & Electric. Do not pay your energy bill through the PGE online website. You will receive an email message saying the payment could not go through because you entered an invalid bank routing code. But the payment will still be processed, and if you send a check for payment or authorize payment through your bank system because you received the email saying your online payment could not be processed, both payments will be processed and you will not be able to obtain a refund for one of the payments -- PGE will simply hold the money and use it for a future bill.

This is not a scam. It happened to me in December, when I paid two months in one bill; now PGE has a large credit on my January bill which will roll over into February and they refuse to issue me a credit because they claim it would take 4-6 weeks to do so, at which time they will simply issue another bill and use that money as well.

Just a warning.

Sincerely,

Debora Hill
