A Watery Playground

A Day at the Beach

RANDY DEABAY
A cool breeze lively washes over my body
While the warm white sand touches my bare feet
Walking quietly along the day's watery playground
The beams of the summer's sun whispers upon the waves
A forgotten wave still bubbles from the darkened sand
While not forgotten footprints silently sneak away
A tide of palm trees whisper their approving welcome
Racing to meet the next oncoming crashing wave
To pleasantly ride its strength to abandoned shore
Playing happily along the day's watery playground
Hiding deep in a swimming trunk pocket a special seashell
Silently following a glare of bird's haphazard footprints
Swimming in the scent of salt in the days open air
Living a life of treasure among the giant waves of the ocean
Basking in the sunlight of another beautiful day
