A Wellness Center with a Touch of Soul at Fisherman's Wharf

The shop, aptly named Art Bath Soul offers San Franciscan's remedies for the cold months with its blend of art, bath scents and soul music.

"I get all my salt and olive oil from Bay Area manufacturers. Operating business in the Bay Area isn't cheap," says shop owner Catina Stavroulakis. "However, I think these relationships are important for commerce and stimulate the local economy."

Her wharf shop showcases state of the art photograph-technology by Moses Osawe of Oakland. "Osawe is from Nigeria and formerly trained in Europe" according to Stavroulakis. Oswae's art is on display alongside Valdimer Virkovsky's whose gallery on Larking Avenue attracts a following. "Both artists specialize in high resolution prints."

Stavroulakis' shop is a haven for warm weather withdrawals, featuring live jazz performances - adding a touch of soul to her wellness products. 650 Connections, a local urban band plays on some Sunday's. "Our genre is a jazz-fusion," says Jivoni Jordan, their percussionist.

"The shower in the shop window was meant for a visual artist to scrub their body to attract customers," says Stavroulakis "I had a mime come down and test out the performance and it just wasn't as cool as I thought it would be." Stavroulakis laughs. "So now we have this cool shower. The space would be perfect now for a poet."

An absolute must have Art Bath Soul product is their Apple Harvest Body Oil Rub. It smells delicious and gives my legs superb moisture after shaving.
