A Whisper and a Smile

Lisa Stanley

Sweet whispers call my name

As I hover to hear the voice

The smile is luring

Beckons my trust

I approach the call

Like the youthful girl I once was

Innocent of the deceit of nature

A fool to be so blind

Finding myself so many years later

Lost in a dark deserted corner

Of a world that has passed me by

With nothing to show but a memory

Of a whisper and a smile
