A Whole New Look on a Dragon Ball Z Video Game

JMALMW
After stumbling upon a Dragon Ball Z episode last week. I found myself back when I was a little kid in my elementary/middle school days. It had been a a few years since I sat down and watched an episode of Dragon Ball Z. As a kid I would watch all the episodes of the Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z (Dragon Ball GT doesn't count) series, I would know all the characers and all that good stuff. Anyway, back on point, I found myself watching the episode and while I was watching it I was thinking how much potential Dragon Ball Z would make as a video game.

The basic idea of making this Dragon Ball Z game would be taking Infamous, Red Dead Redemption and Heavy Rain and combining those two great games and some of their ideas into Dragon Ball Z. For instance, Infamous had a great sandbox to it, and it was about a man having these super powers. So, having that part of a DBZ game only makes sense. That could easily be accomplished with a Dragon Ball Z considering the fact all of the characters have super power traits.

Ok, as we continue on this little adventure of completely overhauling the entire Dragon Ball Z video game series. Let's go to the Red Dead Redemption part. For the DBZ I would take RDR's storyline and make it fit into DBZ. If you haven't played RDR I'll explain in detail. RDR has a lot of different events, and side missions you can do while you are doing the main missions. The same could be added to DBZ. Instead, of doing the same ole same fight, fight, fight, and fight some more DBZ could have missions. For example, depending on which main character you choose (I'll get more into that in the next paragraph) you can decide on how to handle a situation (this is what I was talking about having a little Heavy Rain in this game as well) like may'be you are using Vegeta and you are in the Namek saga. You are finding the Dragon Balls and you run into Gohan and you decide to fight him and may'be you kill him. Things like this could be put into the DBZ video games to kick it up a notch.

Ok, building off what I was saying from the last sentance when you start up the game and go to the story mode the screen that will pop up is which character will you select. May'be it gives you Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, and may'be Piccolo. Anyway, you choose a character and the actions you make could play a major factor on how the story ends. (This is really where the Heavy Rain aspect comes into play) So, say you start off with Vegeta and you meet Goku and beat him, just like in the series, but instead of Gohan, Krillian, and Yajirobe stopping you may'be you get the upperhand and kill them all, or may'be you decide not to kill them, but beat them up really bad, or Goku beats you and you fly away. Whatever outcome happens it should make for a different story and so basically the idea is everytime you play the story mode you can make whatever you want to happen. (or what you want to happen, but your story gets derailed down the line somewhere, you know what I mean)

So, to summerize I would want a sandbox type game, with missions you can do if you choose, and many different endings to create your own type of story. This is just my idea what I would like for the main gameplay, if you guys have any other ideas or suggestions let me know in the comment box. Thanks for reading.

As a big fan of the Dragon Ball series, and a semi fan of the video I gotta say this idea of yours sound AMAZING! The only time I was dissapointed was after I finished reading and realized this was only an idea and not actually happening. Wow, I really hope the makers of the Dragon Ball Z video game series makes this happen. This idea would have DBZ be a contender for Game of the Year. I am foaming at the mouth reading all the different outcomes that I could do with Vegeta and Goku. Wow! This needs to HAPPEN!!! Great read!!
