A Winter Bridal Shower

Winter can be a time of beauty and fun. The colors are cool, crisp and beautiful bringing with it a sense of renewal for the planet and life as the new year begins. It can also be a wonderful and fun time for a winter bridal shower. The themes are endless and with a little creative thought you can give a young bride-to-be a shower to remember her whole life.

Start with a theme such as white, snow and indoor pleasures. For this shower we are going to choose white as the decorations and colors of warmth for the accents. Cover all tables with white tablecloths with white candle center pieces. Surround the candles with small vases filled with white roses and carnations. All furniture can be covered with a few warm color throw's in reds, blacks and plaids. Choose one of the throws in a bright white.

For food you are going to want a winter theme so have on hand flavored coffee and cocoa. With white sugar cookies as a snack. Once the guest have warmed up you can serve warm snacks such as pizza bites and finger salad with dip. Top it all off with beautiful small cakes of white coconut and vanilla sorbet.

For the bridal shower games choose something with a winter theme. Divide everyone into teams of two and have them write a winter poem. When finished let everyone choose the best, the funniest, the most romantic and the saddest. Next go from person to person and have them say what they love about winter. Everyone must guess if they are telling a lie or a truth. Continue game until the last person no one has guessed correctly on. Prizes can be anything from knitted scarves to water globes of a winter scene.
