I was shocked just this morn,
A cold sharp chill was in the air,
Provoking memories of biting winds,
Forming icicles in my hair,
When fingers oft felt painfully numb,
And frosty bike seats dampened bums,
When one was careful where they tread
On paths more suited to a sled.

For joy, the noon once more brought warmth,
And summer days were longer spared,
It's time to hit the beach again,
Warm days will very soon be rare.
