A couple of years ago I never would have written this article, in fact I would have very much resented this article back then. Up until about a year and a half ago I had been walking the path of Wicca myself, I was a solitary Wicca who practiced 'magick' and very proudly called myself a witch, I even spoke out against Christianity several times. Reading through some of my older articles will confirm that this is not just some wild story I am making up to give myself fake credentials, I was Wiccan, thankfully I was saved by God. About a a year and a half ago I was at a theme park hotel with my family, while there I suffered from a terrible toothache that neither pain killers nor spell craft could stop. In agony I sat awake trying to let my family sleep when I saw a Gideon's bible, looking through it simply for something to do I found a help section, which led me to 2 Corinthians 12:9 ' And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.' The reason I open this article this way is to show God's victory over idols and other forms of religion. Now let me get to my main points I would like to make.
Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Wicca claims to be a religion about love and kindness, but the morality falls to what feels right more than what is right. The Wiccan rede is 'An it harm none, do what thou will.' Unfortunately there is a very loose definition of what 'harm' means. The truth is that Wicca leads followers to break several commandments of God and allows for breaking almost all of them. The Wiccan morality is a new morality it embraces what they refer to as 'personal freedom' and 'exploration' but is really just a license to sin openly. Let me expand here and show why I say Wicca is so dangerous.
Relative morality:
There is a lot of talk about relativism in Wicca, what is right for one person may not be right for another. This is known as relativism, where everyone is right and there are no wrong answers, each person's beliefs work for them because they believe it. I used to adhere tightly to this and use it to explain why my views were different than Christians and why it was ok, but there is a big danger in this view. The problem is that it collapses upon close inspection. First off if everyone is right than that means the people who do hurt others-which stands in direct opposition to the one major rule of Wicca-are also right. It also means that Wiccans have no legs to stand on when they try to tell Christians that our views of them are wrong. Finally you take religions like Christianity, Islam and Judaism, all three say the other two are wrong. Now all three can be wrong, but all three can't be right. This also leads to a fairly relative morality, where what you want to be right is right, and what you want to be wrong is wrong. In fact many people enter into Wicca because it means they do not have to adhere to stricter rules from other religions that they feel are too restrictive for them. Compared to the unchanging moral stand laid down by the Word of God it seems pretty shaky.
This means premarital sex is ok, anonymous sex is ok, drugs are ok and so many other things that lead to decay in society are ok. Now I know drugs are ok in Wicca, in fact a very popular Wiccan writer once wrote about drug use this way 'we not only use drugs for recreation but to help alter our reality for spell casting.' Yeah I'm sure the authorities would agree with that sentiment totally. Such flexible morality really does not help any society and causes to moral decay and eventually destruction of said society, look at the history of other such societies and see how they fared over all, its not good. Such morality also breaks down the family unit, causing a plethora of problems from depression to suicide to a drastic increase in crime.
Magic practices:
2Ch 33:6 And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
Not all Wiccans practice magick, but many do. I know I did and most the ones I knew did also. Many people unfamiliar with Wicca, many of them even Christian, will tell you that magic isn't real its all make believe. It is real, it has great power and that power comes from the father of lies. Magic had an almost addicting power to it, one that draws you in and makes it hard to resist. I remember feeling power flow through me, now the memories make me shudder as I realize where that power came from. Magic is also dangerous because it invites the dark power into your home and it takes root there, I remember after I first gave my heart to the Lord how much negative, evil power was in my home trying to hurt me, but thanks to God I came through it alright. Some Wiccans, myself included, think that magic and the bible are somehow compatible, but in truth they are definitely not. The bible condemns sorcery and witchcraft of all kinds in several places, let me list just a few here.
Act 13:7 Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.
Act 13:8 But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.
Act 13:9 Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him,
Act 13:10 And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
Act 13:11 And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.
Act 19:18 And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.
Act 19:19 Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.
Act 19:20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.
These people were convicted by the Holy Spirit to do away with their magic books and scrolls. Why would God want someone to destroy their magic books unless He was against it? Magic is directly against the will of God, it is us trying to ignore his power and use our own. Well unfortunately there are only two sources of power in this universe; God's or Satan's, which do you want to use?
Idolatry:
Exo 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Exo 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth
All through the bible idolatry is condemned, God intended us to worship Him, not other gods of our own making. Wicca has us not only worshipping other gods and goddesses but also bowing down to graven images and worshipping nature itself. These acts all anger God and they draw us away from his love, right where Satan wants us to be. I noticed a trend in Wicca as I began to study the bible, pretty much anything God tells us not to do, Wicca says is ok or uses as religious practice.
The Crowley Connection:
Much of what Gerald Gardner used was based off of the writings of Aleister Crowley, the self proclaimed 'wickedest man alive.' A man who used the moniker 'Beast666' and wrote of himself 'I rip and I rape and I rend.' I can't see how a man like this could ever bring satanic influence into someone's life. The Wiccan rede 'An it harm none do what you will' was taken from the book of Thelema in which Crowley wrote 'And the whole of the law shall be, do as you will.' If one of the main contributors to the Wiccan belief system was such an evil and satanic man, it is not hard to imagine Wicca being Satanism disguised in the 'loving religion' it claims to be.
The 'S' word: Now I would like to point out that Wiccans do not purposefully worship Satan as some claim they do. Satan disguises himself as a loving religion, it says in the bible that Satan takes the form of an angel of light. When trying to witness to a Wiccan or other pagan it is best not to bring up Satan right away as it can put them on the defensive but better to show them the kind of Love Jesus has for them.
It all comes down to this: So, if you are a Wiccan who has read this far, or someone hoping to find a way to get through to a Wiccan it all comes down to one thing; is the bible correct? All I have said concerning why Wicca is wrong all depends on the bible being correct. Well fortunately for me there is quite a bit of archeological, historical and spiritual evidence to support the bible being the infallible word of God. Now I don't want you to take my word for this, please go investigate it like I did after I was initially saved. There are many great books and other resources that provide evidence of the reality of the bible. Let me just say that the evidence supporting the bible is much better than what Margaret Murray found to support her theory of an ancient, Neolithic pagan religion. The greatest evidence for me though is still my encounter in the hotel, where God showed me his victory over all other forms of religion.
I hope this article has opened the eyes of some, I know it is going to make many upset and get me a lot of hate mail, but that's ok if even one person turns away from Wicca it is worth it. It is my hope that God will use this article to shine light into the darkness. Thank you for reading this, God bless you and keep you.

Post a CommentYet here you are JUDGING those that have a profound wisdom and better understanding of what they prefer as their religion, yet you are attempting to muddle, slander and disorient the truth of the Wiccan faith, just like many other idiot Christians out there. So much for your following your own bible and what it is supposed to teach you about love everyone, not to be judgemental or anything else that your supposed loving God, which is also false, because he is nowhere near loving from what all I've ever read, he is however a WARRING GOD and it pretty much states that in your so called bible as well.
So get a life and leave the freedom of religion to those that want to express it in their own way, after all, it is our CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to have Freedom of both Religion and Expression in the United States.
I went on to where I know I belong and that is with my Wiccan/Pagan brothers and sisters. I am much happier now than I have ever been, things have greatly improved in my life and I wouldn't go back to a Christian church ever again! And I have some other reasons I won't go into here, but Christians are the most fickle and judgemental people on the planet Earth, and doesn't YOUR BIBLE say "Not to judge, lest ye be judged"?

EXCUSE ME, it WAS DONE, you can't clear or clean up what was or has been done.
And the statement "Harm None", means just that, we HARM NO ONE IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM. I really detest you so-called converts that go from one religion to another, then shove your religious beliefs onto others claiming to be right.
Your so called bible is nothing more than a GUIDEBOOK, basically a HISTORY BOOK, INTERPRETTED and WRITTEN BY HUMANS for HUMANS. It is nothing more and nothing less. Anyone that claims ANY BOOK is a HOLY DIVINITY IS DELUDING THEMSELVES.
And please DO NOT PRAY FOR ME, I DO NOT WANT IT, NOR DO I NEED IT!
As a matter of fact, ever since I left the so-called Christian churches and found my path to the Wiccan ways and beliefs, things in my life have improved immeasurably. I prayed to your so called God from your bible for years, it got me nothing in return and I believed, really believed, but after years of UNANSWERED PRAYERS, I went on to where I
I WAS raised a Southern Baptist, baptized, saved and all the other hoopla that goes with Christianity, but the Bible is nowhere near what it claims to be either. You claim to have been a Wiccan, but I doubt you really have a clue as to what it really is. Oh and for the record, I have been in various denominations of the so-called Christiam faith and yet NOT A ONE CAN AGREE WITH THE OTHER either! How fickle the Christian faith truly is, each one claims to believe in the "bible", yet each, puts it out differently. So now I am Wiccan and I am proud of it, it has NOTHING to do with Satan, we don't believe in Satan, or did you forget that?
I think it really funny how in the old testament of the bible there is multiudes of ADULTERY, SEX ORGIES, MURDER (SACRIFICED HUMANS TO GOD!) as well as other claims to some of the biggest sins in the world. Yet those are all okay just because a "new testament" was written to clear that mess all up? EXCUSE ME, it
I'm not going to get into a huge argument with you JJ, I'm just going to point out the hypocrisy that you throw at me. It's wrong for me to 'shove' my religious beliefs down your throat by writing an article that I never made you read, you chose to. You however, come onto my article and send me a comment saying how bad it is that I'm trying to force you to agree with me, yet your telling me that I have to agree with you. So are you the only one with freedom of speech and religion? I have a right to express my religious views and I have a right to say why I think they are right, but you seem to think that only you have that right.
I just realized I spelled going wrong. Woops. :P
I am not gowing to rant and rave, but I will say this, people like you disgust me. Religion is a huge choice and you are fickle. If the Bible wasn't right for you before then why would it be now? The pages didn't change. When people hear that I am Wiccan they often assume that I have something against Christianity and that is not true. I was raised Catholic and hold no hostility towards it. It just wasn't right for me. Christianity may be right for you, but it isn't for everybody. So you being Christian is not what bothers me. It is how you try to shove it down others throats. You keep doing that and somebody's going to spit it back in your face. And although I'm not even in college yet I've read hundreds of books on numerous religions and have a full understanding of what they mean. So throwing Bible verses I already know at me is not going to change how I feel. Oh. I guess I did rant. Sorry and Blessed Be.
Can I ask how you were a Wiccan High Priest and a solitary? Solitaries generally have no formal training to teach them to be a HP, nor do they have any way to earn the title without an elder's guidance or group's acceptance. Sounds to me like you never really understood or internalized the lessons of Wicca at all, so I am not surprised it did not turn out in the long run to be the right path for you. People of all religions fall short (Christianity, Wicca) but that doesn't mean it is a fatal flaw of the religion's morality. I think it's great that you found your true path; I just think it's sad it's not enough-- that you have to spread misinformation about another group's beliefs. Good luck on your new path, may it bring you wisdom and understanding.
Gareth, I applaud your boldness to tell it like it is. You're spot on it man. I wish more Christians would come out so boldly. I'm a Christian author & I admire what zeal you have to tell of your past & how God is working in your life to reveal these things to the world. Well done my friend. Tow big "Thumbs Up!" for this. :-)
