A Woman's Good Deed Never Goes Unpunished, Just Ask Sarah Palin

JG
Although I do not follow her closely and I suspect most of you do not either unless you work for CNN, Fox News or happen to be a politician, Sarah Palin and many other women making headlines these days just cannot seem to catch a break from the media. Not that many people do, lets be honest, Anderson Cooper and Bill O'Reilly would not have a job if they painted a realistic picture of the world we live in here in the Western world which is that most days and most people are kind of "normal". No that would not make you tune into their show and advertisers and tune out of your own life which is what their primary goal is.

So Sarah Palin has stepped down as Governor of Alaska, she says because she loves Alaska and can do more not being the Governor and being tied up in frivolous lawsuits and attacks. OK, it makes sense even if their are other motivations. But every news organization is questioning her motives and truthfulness and many other morals and ethics. Maybe their right and she is a she-devil but yet I don't hear a whole lot from them when my Governor, Mr. Schwarzenegger decided not to run for re-election and he has not done our great state of California any favors folks. Not a balanced budget as required by the Constitution since he has been in office and got there by belittling Gray Davis all the way to ballot box. No besides the the turmoil we Californians are in there is very little reported on Arnold regardless of the attack he made against Obama at the end of the campaign on Mr. McCain's behalf. If Sara would have insulted Obama's manliness, who knows what special committee would have be formed in Washington.

That leads me to another woman who has been maligned by the celebrity media, Kate Gosselin. Now if you have ever watched her show then you know Kate likes to boss her husband around. but you may also have overlooked the fact that she is a great mother too. Like many of us who belong to the wives and mother's club, you may have said to your husband, "At least I'm not that mean". But when news began to break of her husband's infidelity all the puzzle pieces fell into place in my mind yet the media latched on to her as the villain. Huh? How can a mother of eight children, who gave birth to six at once mind you, be made to seem like she deserved this treatment simply because she was bitchy. He did happen to get fired from his job right before or after six of her children were born. Now we also know that he happens to have a love of college age girls as well. I can say with confidence that she deserves to be a bitch more than any bitch I know.

Now even Jon Gosselin's newest girlfriend, Hailey, you may have read about is a pot smoking party girl who likes to party with girls, etc.. Yet another woman who is being called out for bad behavior while she is hanging with a MAN who is married with eight children at home who certainly miss and love him very much. Hailey is the one being portrayed badly even though she is just 22 and in college. Does anyone see a trend here. Why is he getting away with his behavior while out squandering his kids money on his new lifestyle. I'm sure Kate did not expect the teen years to be so hard on her and I'm even more sure she did not expect her husband to re-enter the teen years before her own young children. He's a little young for a mid-life crisis. I mean don't most teen boys where ridiculous clothing, stay out late at night and chase after college girls while smoking pot? At least their brains have not yet developed. I think Kathy Griffin said it best when she said the show will now need to be called Kate plus 9.

As for the media, we'll have to see they also continue regressing in their equality of the coverage on men and women. The dark ages are over, women don't get public hangings for being accused of witchcraft anymore, right? Maybe history really does repeats itself as metaphors go.
