I had the pleasure of dining at at Bertolini's Italian restaurant over Monther's Day. My mother and I were in Indianapolis, IN visiting family and I wanted to take her out for a special meal on her special day. I had heard many great things about Bertolini's, so we thought we'd give it a try.

Bertolini's is located in the gorgeous city of Indianapolis. It's my hometown, so I am a little biased, but at night the city lights up, and it has a magical air about it. Bertolini's fits right into this city. When we walked up to the restaurant, the quaint look and the smell of authentic Italian cuisine made me feel like I was in a gorgeous city in Italy.

Even though the place was quite crowded, we were quickly seated by a hostess who was full of personality. I can't stand to dine somewhere that the hostesses and servers don't have personality. It just makes your meal so much more enjoyable, and the people at Bertolini's were incredible.

We started off our meal with two different appetizers that we both loved. We had the Polenta Fries and the Calamari Fritti which were both out of this world. The flavors were so amazing. It was like you could almost taste every ingredient they put into them one by one.

We both then decided to have salads with our meals too. Yes, we were incredibly hungry. I had the Seafood Salad, and my mother had the Mediterranean Salad. She wasn't quite so happy with hers, but then again, she's not big on salads. They looked so incredible and fresh that she just had to have one though. That's when you know you're in a good restraunt. When the presentation of the food makes you want it even if you don't like it, and the presentation of the food at Bertolini's In Indianapolis, Indiana was incredible.

For our main course, my mother had the Cappelli Al Pomodoro and I had the Linguini Al Frutti Di Mare. Hands down it was the most authentic Italian food I have ever eaten. I've traveled all over the world and eaten in "the real deal" restaurants in, Massa-Carrara, Pisa, Siracusa, Agrigento, and many other places and both of our dishes were as authentic and tasty as they were when I ate in the cities in Italy.

Bertolini's In Indianapolis, Indiana is now on my top 10 list of great Italian reraunts around the world. I never thought I could find a restraunt that could compare to all the authentic Italian places I ate at when I visited Italy years ago, but Bertolini's brought back so many memories with their incredible food and service. I definitely give them 5 starts across the board!
