A Writer

I write to feel the world within my spinning sleepless mind

To make sense of the things I think

To pass a moment in time

I write the thoughts, the fears, and the joys

Without a care to stop

Addicted to the rush I feel

When words take their own powerful stand

I write when I do not speak

Of the things I would never say

I write in my mind constantly

And let the words fill the page

I used to hide them far away

For fear of rejection

How could someone write these things

And still be sane and well

Then I was overcome and could fight the words no more

I have to live and breathe this world

For fear I will have none

I write to live and live to write

And this is my vow

For in my spinning sleepless mind

The words shall always tell
