However, CCZ can be a daunting place for writers. A place where frequent visits must be avoided at all cost. It's quick to get to, but a much longer trip home. It lulls you into repetitive thinking and even worse it lulls you into repetitive thinking. Your characters become predictable. Your fans become complacently loyal - comforted by their ability to finish your book before reading it. If you find yourself making daily trips to CCZ you may need to be immunized against DUCP, "Dull and Uninteresting Character Plots." Trust me a shot in the arm against DUCP will hurt a lot less than the slow, agonizing task of reading a dreary manuscript. Maybe a yearly telethon is needed. Or perhaps a national support group to wipe out the dreaded DUCP. I can hear the host pleading into the camera, "Please help these poor writers by donating fresh material and rousing character plots. Let's wipe out this debilitating literary condition. And remember all donations are tax deductable and copyrighted. "
Now I wouldn't go as far as to say that CCZ is the DUCP infected writer's demise, however, I will say that it is the prelude to the battle of the boring. The express train is about to departing from Comfy Cozy Zone - time to head back to Think Outside of the Boxville. All aboard aspiring writers and please have your return tickets innovatively ready.
