A New Year, a New Beginning

Taylor Rios-Denoir
As the year draws to a close, I am reminded of all that has happened,

All the success I achieved as well as all the dreams that were dampened.

I made up my list of New Year's Resolutions and plan to stick with them,

I plan to make informed decisions this year, on not act on an impulse or a whim.

Looking forward to the future and all the great plans God has for me,

All the great things of my future that I cannot yet see.

As the clock ticks closer to midnight my mind comes back to the present,

I strain my neck so I can better see the glistening silver ball making its decsent.

Streamers float down from the sky with flair and finesse,

Fireworks explode up above me, lighting up the darkness.

The crowds cheers are deafening as I laugh and spin around,

In 2009 I was lost, but this year I will be found!
