A Year Without Christmas: President Obama's Christmas Present to Us

As Christmas Day approaches I am sure many of us in the U.S. are thinking how we are going to manage Christmas presents for our families when we can barely afford to feed ourselves. I know many of you out there are probably thinking "you got your ownselves into this," but thats just not the case. We have owned our own business for years now and when President Obama was voted into office and started messing things up our business went downhill.

Stocks dropped, people lost money and people started losing their jobs. And in the mean time President Obama is off in Hawaii enjoying the sunshine while we sit here watching everything we worked hard for going down the tubes. The stress alone is enough to kill anyone and then January is coming up and the property taxes are due, except oh yeah you don't have the money anymore to pay them.

So your Christmas present this year is, you get to lose your house that your kids grew up in. And where is the help President Obama promised? Change you say, what change! People are afraid to speak out and say whats on their minds, but I'm not. I have never had to have food stamps in my life and the first time we try for them we can't get them because my husbands truck is paid off. Where is the justice in that? Its a 1999 Ford F-150, its old. When I was growing up there was an older woman around the corner from where we lived that was rich and had a chauffeur and still got food stamps. Why can't we?

Truck drivers just don't make enough, think about it. Alot of us carry hazardous materials and most single drivers are lucky if they get paid 42 cents a mile, most only make 28 cents a mile and thats just not right seeing as we are putting our lives on the line. Life just sucks right now for the most part.

There are many people that were for President Obama that are now against him, there are so many people out there that need work and they just can't find it. My husband has been trying everyday to find another job since the one he is currently at is only paying him $9.75 an hour plus 25% of the load which is chicken scratch compared to what we were making. And he carries fuel.

This year the only way we have managed to stay afloat has been our friends and family. We mowed yards all summer to make extra money to pay the bills and buy groceries. I am tired of waking up everyday to the misery in this world, if its not the wars its the starvation in other countries and the lack of jobs here in the U.S..

What is this world coming to when people can't speak out without fear of being put in jail for saying the wrong thing. Where is free speech? Where is the help we need? Where's the stimulus money going you ask? It should be going to us instead oof the arrows and wine they keep putting it towards. On top of that all politicians need term limits, the fact that they can stay in there until they die is just down right ridiculous. Most of these people are so old they just need to retire so new blood can get in there and really change this country for the better.

And then health care is another issue in itself, do they really think they are going to help us? Why can't they just pass a bill to stop high premiums, high deductibles and pre-existing. I was stuck with 30,000 dollars this year after being diagnosed with thyroid cancer because they (the health insurance company) says its pre-existing just because I went to the doctor once before I got insurance with them. We need congressmen and senators that will stand up for our rights and not be afraid to speak out.
