I sat to write a New Year's poem,
As Winter came around again--
To bid adieu to year 09,
And welcome in 2010.
As Winter came around again--
To bid adieu to year 09,
And welcome in 2010.
Unemployment hit the roof
Last year, among our other woes.
And Chinese drywall taints the homes
Of those who haven't been foreclosed.
The war drags on across the world,
And we all caught the flu called Swine.
No King of Pop to cheer us up--
Good riddance to 2009.
2010 holds promise yet--
Although our soldiers won't be home--
There's always next year and a wish
To put in next year's New Year's Poem
