The famous London studio even had a Beatles album named after it, and ex-Beatle Paul McCartney hopes people associated with the studios will try and save it. Which begs the question: "Why not buy it yourself, Paul?" British DJs Chris Evans and Steve Wright were pressurizing Macca on their BBC Radio 2 shows, to do just that yesterday (February 17th).
The Cavern Club in Liverpool was soon neglected after The Beatles had made it renowned around the world. It seems to be a typically British trait: "Don't appreciate it, till it's gone."
So, anyone fancy walking down the famous zebra crossing to look at a block of flats?
British charity The National Trust have said that they may attempt to buy the threatened studios, so there's hope that they can be saved.

Oh dear, I remember all of those!
Hopefully this will be saved.
Great coverage. Now the National Trust is also interested in preserving it.
I hope the studio can be saved.
a groovy write!!
Excellent article! This is sad news, and yes, why doesn't Paul McCartney buy Abbey Road Studios?
So much history is lost when these places which gave so much are destroyed.
Typical for an entertainer to say, "Someone should do something," instead of doing it themselves. Hope something is done to save the building.
I think he should buy it too. yeah, yeah, yeah
