ABC 2010 Fall Line-up

2010 Line-up Similar to 2009 Fall Shows

Jane Vee
It seems ABC was happy with 2009 Fall television. If they were not ABC is going to make the same mistakes for another season. Most of the shows for ABC's 2010 Fall line-up will remain the same and the ones being replaced are being replaced with comedy/drama, or just drama.

Everyone will be happy to know Dancing with the Stars will be back with a new season. You can continue wishing off your least favorite dancers on Monday nights. Dancing with the Stars starts at 8:00 pm.

Castle follows suit by returning on Monday nights at 10:00 pm. Tuesdays shakes things up with two new series. No Ordinary Family comes on at eight, followed by Dancing with the Stars Results, and at ten Detroit 1-8-7.

If you are wondering about the two new shows for Tuesday nights, you may feel a little let down. No Ordinary Family sounds like a spin-off of the fabulous four and other super heroes all rolled into one. A family has a plane crash and they survive the crash to find they have super powers. The show is about their everyday life after they get home that is not so "everyday" anymore.

Detroit 1-8-7 is like a documentary. It is a drama that people who like the action in Law and Order: SVU and shows with sidebars will absolutely be delighted with. Detroit 1-8-7 is a little different from ABC's other shows. It looks like ABC is going out on a limb with this one and you might want to follow.

Wednesday night boasts small changes as 8:00 pm starts off half hour series of The Middle, Better Together, Modern Family, Cougar Town and then at ten, a one hour show The Whole Truth. Better Together and The Whole Truth are two new shows for Wednesday night, replacing Eastwick and Hank.

Better Together is a comedy about relationships. Check out the spoiler for the show. The show seems funny, but it looks like it will be a challenge to hold your interest for an entire season. How much "relationship" drama can one take?

The Whole Truth is a legal drama showing both sides of the case. If you like Law and Order, this show is for you. There is no police working in the middle the detectives are more professional, almost like lawyers in cheap suits. This drama may be one to keep your eyes on as the season unfolds.

Thursday at eight o'clock pm My Generation comes on. It is followed by Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice. All are hour long shows. Thursday has only slightly been changed, but it has kept the theme to a less mature audience with My Generation.

My Generation is another type of documentary. A group of high-schoolers are followed for ten years and they come back to find that they are not where they thought they wanted to be in ten years. This sounds more like something you would think of as a movie, but with a writer like Noah Hawley (The Unusuals, Bones) this story just might be able to be pulled off. How? We will have to wait and see.

Friday starts off with two new one hour series, Secret Millionaire and Body of Proof. 20/20 still comes on at ten for an hour. The Secret Millionaire and Body of Proof replace Super Nanny and Ugly Betty. The two new shows are nothing like the ones they replace.

Secret Millionaire is about millionaires moving into slums. They are keeping their identities secret and they are living amongst the poor as poor. Then, they will give some of their money to the people that need it most.

Body of Proof is a medical and a legal drama. Dr. Megan Hunt is a medical examiner that does not know where her job ends and the police work begins. She believes the body is the evidence and knows her victims. This may be a show for you to watch if you like action dramas.

Saturday night stays the same with College Football. Sunday night also stays the same with Extreme Makeover Home Edition, Desperate Housewives, and ending the night with Brothers and Sisters.

Is ABC's strategy too bold or will it work? Only time will tell if ABC's new shows will be a hit or not. Check them out before you abandon the television programming for a movie.

I wish Fox would leave Bones on Thursday night.I am gone on Tuesday night so now I'll have to miss the show. Why do the networks always have to mess up the good stuff? And the other networks don't have crap on that night.

It was pointed out that I called the Fantastic Four the fabulous four. As you can see it is in lower case letters and meant for you to "guess" exactly to whom I was referring. I didn't want to infringe on anyone's "rights".

There's nothing right now on ABC that I really want to watch. Then again, I don't watch much TV these days. Thanks for the article though.

Good article! I just dumped my cable TV service. They couldn't seem to decide what they were going to charge me. It was too expensive to start with then they add a few extra dollars each month for no particular reason. So, we parted ways. Fortunately, I can still see a lot of these shows on the 'net on my own schedule! Great job!
