ABC Soap Operas "All My Children" And "One Life to Live" Cancelled

In September 2011, "All My Children" Will End and in January 2012, "One Life to Live" Ends

ABC's "All My Children" and "One Life to Live" cancelled and fans of the soap operas are not pleased. How can ABC axe two of the best soap operas? What will fans do without Erica Kane or Tad Martin?

In September 2011, "All my Children" will end and in January 2012, "One Life to Live" ends. This is unfair to the fans of ABC soap operas. According to ABC women are not homemakers that stay home and watch soaps anymore instead they are working. What ABC fails to realize is women have the option to set timers to record and watch later.

I have been watching ABC soaps since I was 8 years old and I'm very disappointed that these two soaps will not air any longer. First ABC took away "Port Charles" which was centered on vampires and werewolves. Granted it was ahead of "Twilight" and "The Vampire Diaries" but was still very appealing to the audience. Had this soap opera came out after those two maybe "Port Charles" would still be airing.

Life without Erica Kane and Tad Martin will be hard. Fans will miss the Erica Kane's drama and the smooth talking Tad Martin who has always been a hit with the women of Pine Valley. Fans of "One Life to Live" will miss their favorite vampire from "Port Charles" turned police detective John McBain of Landview.

How will ABC end two favorite soaps that have been airing for so long? There is no official word yet as to how the two soaps will end. As of now, "General Hospital" will be the only soap opera to air on ABC daytime.

Food and lifestyle transformation shows will replace "All my Children" and "One Life to Live." Come on ABC don't replace two great soaps with this stuff. If you're going to axe two shows replace them with something more exciting. I have a gut feeling that ABC will really see their viewers turn the channel more than ever.

"All my Children" aired for the first time in 1970 and "One Life to Live" in 1968. That's a long time for soap operas. Fans have loved, hated, laughed and cried with their favorite actor through the years. To have these two daytime soap operas ripped from television is wrong. Both daytime soaps have had great story lines through the years. All of which have touched on subjects that happen in real life. Story lines dealing with cancer hit close to home for many people and watching it play out and end happy on a soap opera gave people hope.

I think this move will be a huge mistake for ABC. Viewers will most likely switch to other channels such as CBS and NBC. Since ABC is axing two favorite soap operas, they should consider picking up "Port Charles" again where the show left off. It would sure be a hit soap opera now especially since "The Vampire Diaries" and "Twilight" were such huge hits. This would be better than food or lifestyle transformation shows.

Come on ABC think this through thoroughly before you destroy your ratings. Cancelling "All my Children" and "One Life to Live" will be like taking candy from a baby, a huge mistake.

ABC why have you killed our families we have grown up with and watched for years? You think we would rather have you tell us how we are supposed to cook, act, look and dress your nothing but Communist! This is supposed to be a FREE America where we can be our individual selves. You've taken away an American Family Tradition. Watching our SOAP families has helped us in our dreams, hopes, gave us comfort and an escape for problems we all deal with everyday in this world. I believe people need help in dealing with everyday problems that arise in this world and we have recieved it watching these SOAPS. They do more to help us survive our own lives then you ever will with your do what we want you to do new programs.
SAVE THE AMERICAN FAMILY TRADITION -- RETURN OUR SOAPS!!!

I will not be watching the new the shows in the slots for All My Children and One Life to Live
I watched One Life since 1968 and I worked and brought up my children while watching. I don't watch much of regular TV as it is. I will be reading or doing other activities instead. Thanks for letting me now use my time more wisely.

I am not pleased either! I think both shows got a raw deal! I mean ratings are not what they used to be but to take them off the air and put them on the Internet does not make sense to me. I am surprised the actors did not put up a huge fight! Seems like everyone just gave in much too quickly. Thus, I will miss both shows, since I have watched them faithfully since I was a mere teenager.

I feel there are taking the 2 best soaps off the air. I've been watching soaps for over 40 years
and if any soap should be removed it should be General hospital ( it's getting very old and boring). But since they feel like pulling those soaps I hope they end them with all HAPPY ENDINGS.
It's the reallity shows that should be taken off, there stupid, how can they be reality when there all rehearsed. I'm very disappointed

I wish they would not cancel All My Children and One Life to Live I have been watching these show since i was a little girl. When I used to work I made sure I taped them so I could watch them in the evening. Now that I am got hurt and got disabled and can not leave my home watching these shows is the only way I felt I could live. Living through these characters gave me a purpose not to give up on life. See being stuck in a house not being able to get out is not fun and seeing these shows made me happy. Watching Tad , Ryan, Greenlee, always fighting for what is right and whom they loved. Come on people do not cancel these shows. No one want stupid reality show or more cooking shows.

Leave the SOAPS ALONE DO NOT CANCEL THEM.
