ABC's New Show "Combat Hospital" Looks like a Winner

An interesting and eye-opening new program on the ABC summer lineup is "Combat Hospital" a look into the lives of the people who help to keep our soldiers and civilians alive after attacks from IEDs and combat warfare. It is an international team of people who come from the military of various countries involved in the fighting in Khandahar, Afghanistan.

The commander of the hospital is Dr. Xavier Marks, a no-nonsense commander who seems emotionless, from being there for quite a while and seeing what war has done to so many young lives. Dr. Rebecca Gordon is a Canadian surgeon who comes with lots of emergency and trauma experience.

Dr. Bobby Trang is an American doctor with little experience and an immediate lack of confidence in his abilities but becomes friends with Rebecca; the first person he met on the base.

"Combat Hospital" does not completely prepare them for the unexpected, like a snake showing up in the operating room, rebellious Afghani prisoners needing medical attention and soldiers dying unnecessarily, the face of war is not pretty. This international team of medical staff is a true example of courage under fire.

This cast of virtual unknowns, will not be unknown for long, as they include: Michelle Borth as Dr. Rebecca Gordon, Terry Chen as Dr. Bobby Trang and Elias Koteas as Dr. Xavier Marks. It airs on ABC on Tuesday at 10/9c.
