Abilene KOA, located at 4851 W. Stamford Street, Abilene, Texas, is located in what used to be a pecan grove, allowing for RV sites that are either sunny or ones that are shaded. This KOA campground is conveniently located off of I-20, exit 282, making it easy to find while being close to all that Abilene, Texas has to offer visitors to the area.

RVers who choose to stay at Abilene KOA will find RV sites that are large, accommodating big rigs with slides. These sites are level, have full hookups, and have 50 amp electrical service, free wifi internet and free cable television.

Abilene KOA has the amenities that most RVers have come to expect while they are traveling. This would include a swimming pool that is open from May 1 to October 15, a children's playground for those younger RVers, horseshoes, billiards, basketball, ping pong, a gift shop and convenience store as well as propane gas available delivered to each RV site. This RV Park is also pet friendly and has a grassy, fenced dog park and treats. There is also a laundromat, restrooms and showers on the property.

Visitors to Abilene who choose to use Abilene KOA as their home base will find that Abilene offers hundreds of restaurants, many of whom will deliver to their RV site and even more shopping opportunities within a few miles of the RV Park. But, eating and shopping are not the only activities that are offered in this part of the Lonestar State. Abilene Zoo offers visitors the chance to see and even feed many critters and Frontier Texas offers visitors the chance to take a multimedia journey through the history of Texas. Dyes Air Force Base is also located close to Abilene KOA as are 5 different golf courses, a public tennis court, 2 bowling centers, the Abilene Dragstrip, the Abilene Speedway, a real drive-in movie theater and other movie theaters. There are also shopping malls, mini golf, go-cart tracks, roller skating and more to do and see in Abilene, Texas.
