Ability to Change the Color of Your Car Now a Reality

The ability to change the color of our automobiles without having to pay the expensive costs of having them repainted would be amazing. I am not talking about receiving a paint job that changes color depending on how the sun shines upon the car. It would be amazing to change a car's color from red, to green, to white, back to red whenever you wanted to. A new company has made this a reality through creating the ability to change the color of your car whenever you wish.

Of course you will have to first purchase a vehicle that incorporates this new technology. Sadly, none of the cars currently coming out will have this type of paint on them. However, several leading automobile manufacturers have expressed interest in the technology. One of those manufacturers is Nissan and they would like to offer this ability with their 2012 automobile line. How it works is quite simple and amazing as well.

The name of this color changing technology is called paramagnetic. Basically, this is a unique process of painting your car with a special coat known as iron oxide (ferrum). This coat will be applied before any paint is placed upon the car. What is neat about this coat is that once it is applied to the body of the car it is able to create special crystals at the surface of the automobile to change their color. This is possible because the coat is created through being processed with electricity in a top secret process that the company has perfected.

The coat also works well because it is being coated on metal. When the two touch it helps create an extra jolt of electricity. This electricity is actually very important because it will allow the automobile to maintain the color that it has been changes over to. Another cool aspect of this coating technology is its ability to create just about any color humanly possible. The result is endless opportunities to make the car a different color depending on your mood for the day.

Whenever the color is changed it will revert back to a basic white color when the engine is no longer running. This is because the electricity produced by the engine is what causes the rest of the electricity to generate the crystals to change the color of the car. Quite an impressive accomplishment by a company that we still know little about due to them being confidential about their creation. Hopefully Nissan incorporates the technology soon so I can change the color of my car whenever I want to.
