Abortion

Legal like Marriage

Uncle MythMan
During a recent perfectly-legal activity, I realized that abortion should be legal-like-marriage.

((I'm sure you know that marriage isn't legal except for the tax-break, which works with hetero-couples because there is a greater chance of childbirth if the couple has more money. The only reason homosexuals want to make their marriage 'legal' is so that each party can shamelessly assume the chosen role of man- or woman-of-the-house; but it won't increase the chance of adding to the tax-base, so it would mark a loss for the treasury if they allowed homosexuals the break.))

What makes a marriage "legal" is the 'wise guy' (judge, priest, doctor, royal magistrate) who "declares" it 'legal.'

If a particular 'wise-guy' has passed whatever tests his government gives to 'wise guys,' then the general-public knows that he sees and realizes "truths" of a situation. When the 'wise-guy' looks at a particular couple and declares the realization, 'They go together always-and-forever, forever-and-ever Amen!' (maybe not verbatim, but close to it), then that couple is 'legal.'

Abortion is a matter which should require a magistrate's blessing ... it is a serious drain on the tax-base. It should be one of those case-by-case legalities--like losing a limb ... "Will I ever play the uni-cycle violin again, doc?" "Maybe not, but you won't live to see another stage/auditorium unless we amputate that fetal tissue tonight!"

You could say that this is what commanders/executives are trained-for: to know when to 'say die,' which is something soldiers are trained not to do without the command from the higher-up's.

Yes, I agree; doctor-assisted suicides SHOULD be legal!

Let's use an African-American female as an example. Black baby boys are the least adopted children, should she choose to put the unwanted baby she was forced to birth up for adoption. Someone must pay for this baby's care until adulthood. That somebody is taxpayers. Foster parents often take on these unwanted children simply to get paid. They become abused, sometimes sexually. Some get murdered. Much better to allow a woman "liberty" to make her own choice and allow her a safe, legal abortion. Abortion only affects her, whereas unwanted babies affect all of us.

If that lady over there decides to flush a rapist cell out of her body it does not have any reflection on my life. If she is forced to allow it to develop into an embroyo attaching itself to her womb with a cord and mature to a fetus and give birth to a baby it does impact society. Most often a woman that makes the tough choice to teminate a pregnacny does so because she was deserted by the one who impregnanted her.

Top 5 AC debate article? "A government of, for and by the people" is just a lot of hogwash. It starts with birth where the government is now saying parents can not pick out their child's own name. We have to go to school to learn "all men are created equal" only to learn, they really did mean men and at the time they wrote it, some people were considered "property". We need to buy a license to get married, and pay 10 times more to pay an attorney to give you the right to go back to your pre-marital name. We are forced to pay taxes or "insurance" but lord help you if you want to collect unemployment and one is not allowed to retire when the body tells us so.

I respect women's right to make a decision too; if you want to sleep with me and decide not to let me use protection, you're deciding to have a child. Now, if you were 'on the pill' or didn't want me to ... do that, THEN an abortion would be justified. (I mean, what kid wants to grow up knowing he was never wanted.) But Sex is overrated ... only prized because it's so protected (i.e. you either have to OWN it or be INVITED to it).

Abortion to me is not an option but I do respect a woman's choice to make that decision. We all must live with our choices.

Actually, I said it SHOULD be done on a case-by-case basis. That it's like losing a limb ... the way I understand it, it's PERFECTLY LEGAL to kill your child until such time as the child becomes an Independent Citizen. (Oh, people will disagree with your killing the child, and the other parent can take you to court for whatever you call the civil case there; but aborting a fetus IS cutting off a part of your body!)

You're right that abortion should not be done in a case by case basis, and that it cost the government a lot of money; but the Lord is against murder of any kind, thus it should be outlawed; not done only with a "judge, priest, doctor, royal magistrate" blessing.

  • MythMan Jude Deterhaus 5/17/2007

    That's what "law" is!

  • Steve Hicks 5/17/2007

That sure is a lot of "quotations"
